Syngamy – Fusion of the male gamete with the nucleus of the egg cell is called syngamy, this results In the formation of the diploid zygote.
Triple fusion– Fusion of a male gamete With two polar nuclei, to produce triploid primary endosperm nucleus IS called triple fusion.

Functions of Endosperm in plants:-
i) Endosperm performs the function of supplying nutrition to the growing embryo.
ii) It is a tissue produced inside the seeds of most flowering plants around the time of fertilization.
iii) It surrounds the embryo and provides nutrition in the form of starch, though it can also contain oils and protein.
iv) This can make endosperm a source of nutrition in the human diet too.
